As much as I worship Dylan, I would say that he may not be the best song-writer, but he is certainly the best poet whose words have been set to music.

comparing dylan with lennon and mccartney is a hard thing to do as all 3 are some of the greatest songwriters in tehcontemporary music category..i would still pick dlyan over that being that, he influenced the beatles heavily..also the longevity and amount of great work by dylan is on a level never reached, in my oppinion, by any others.

oooh i love bob dylan - fantastic songwriter - but to be fair mcartney and lennon were good too. love dylan's new album modern times. also leonard cohen is great too with dear heather.
saw dylan in 1984 at wembley....brilliant. he was with ub40 and santana as his supporting acts.

yes he's definately the best song writer...he was lennon and mccartney's inspiration, and they only came close a few times...he's got decades of brilliant songs.
