Not really...those multi-colored ABA balls are not worth anything special, and it was around a lot longer than this synthetic ball.

Collecting is based on the individual and what it means to that individual. The question is rather the synthetic ball will have enough value to anyone such that they would pay for one. I would think not. Basketballs, baseball, and footballs (authentic pro issue) can be bought in stores. I'm sure the synthetic is available and stores will not just throw them out. However, there are bound to be some people who might think they will be valuable some day and buy a lot of them.

possibly....i would guess no though. this wont be the end of hearing about the new ball. theyre going back to the leather ball, but it definitely wont be a permanent thing. the nba and spalding are going to go back and reevaluate whats wrong with the ball (although they pretty much already did) and get players input , etc etc. eventually, there will again be a "new ball".
but maybe....it might be a collectors item as "the ball that failed".
