Yes. For example, if you're walking down the street and a flower pot falls on your head, there's a very simple reason for it...

You were in the wrong place at the wrong time! If you had left five seconds sooner or later, it wouldn't have happened.

Fate and destiny, whether good or bad, is based on the decisions people make for themselves.

I believe that for everything that happens there's a reason....but I don't believe that everything happens FOR a reason....not in that the person that bad luck (for want of a better phase) hits has somehow deserved it...I definitely don't believe that.

Let's assume a child is left on it's own while the parents go out drinking...Someone else comes along & sexually assaults the child...What could possibly be the reason for that? Well, the reason it happened is because the child was left on it's own...the reason behind that reason is because the parent's are neglectful...the reason behind that reason is because the parent's are selfish....beginning to make sense to you??? I won’t even get started on the abuser!!!

So to answer your question...No! Everything doesn't happen for a reason...but there is a reason as to why everything happens...
People hate the idea that unforeseen things happen to each & every one of us. We all at times experience not so good times in our lives...because of failure to reason things out in our minds many of us assume that for those going through a hard time...it must be happening for a reason..maybe it makes them feel more comfortable to kind of look at the victim & somehow believe that the fault is theirs.
I hate that saying as it's nonsensical as is the saying "what goes around, comes around" another victim blaming phase.
It all comes from the spiteful belief that if something un-toward happens to anyone...then they must have done something wrong in order to deserve it!...you may feel that some people do deserve to have something happen to them but that brings us back to the example I started with...
I'd better stop I think before I get really started on that one.

If people just used the brain they were given at birth to think & reason stuff out it's quite simple to understand...

It's no surprise with sayings like this...there was a witch-hunt back in the Middle Ages
God forbid...

yes i do if you step back and look at life every thing you do has a positive and negative reaction like this if you run down stairs to go out side you might fall and break your leg but if you had not ran down the stairs and made your way out side you could have got hit by a car i know this sounds all f***ed up but that statement deals with religion ,time, and human prediction of time . the reason i say human prediction of time is that the person who uses that statement is saying something that you do now changes something in the future and if you look at it that is true

Very philosophical. There is normally cause and effect - yes.

A dropped plate falls to the ground because of gravity. A car gets rear ended at a roundabout because of a lack of concentration. In that sense, there is always a cause.

But, I think that is not what you are really asking.

yes- otherwise, there wouldn't be any logic or understanding behind it. there were and are circumstances, situations, issues and reasons leading up to what happened and why it happened. there is no such thing as no reason, in truth because there is a reason for everything and a reason why things do happen

Oh Wayne, this question seems to come up only when someone has suffered a great loss. Whether it is your loss or someone you love, I am truly sorry.

We serve a sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent God who loves you very much.
