This time my uncle and I want to know what the terminal velocity or top speed that the Apollo mission guys reached as they tore away from earth's gravitational field en route to the moon.
"What was the highest speed reached on their way to the moon"?

The highest speed was about 25,000 mph, after the burn to send the CSM-lander stack from earth orbit toward the moon.

The blue prints for the first T-Ford still exist as well. But most people prefer a brand new car. Same reason here: technology makes huge progress in 40 years. So the ARES will be saver and cheaper to build. Another reason is that the companies that built the parts of the Saturn V, no longer exist or don't have the expertise anymore. In other words, rebuilding the Saturn V, would also mean, rebuilding that technology.

The highest speed the Saturn V rocket could achieve was about 25,200 mph. This number depends on several things such as the earth's gravity, the payload, etc.

Once they broke Earth's orbit, it took about 3 days to get there and 3 days to get back. The moon is about 250,000 miles away that makes it about 3500 miles an hour.
