MASTURBATION MYTHS:
from http://www.jackinworld.com/library/myths.html
Chances are, of all the things you've heard about masturbation, most of them were absolutely false. For some reason, misinformation surrounds masturbation like virtually no other topic. How do you spot a masturbation myth? One simple method is to ask yourself if the statement is also true of sexual intercourse. When you're masturbating, your body only knows it's getting sexually stimulated; it doesn't know by what means. So, for instance, if the question is whether or not masturbation causes acne, think of it this way: If it did, intercourse would also cause acne. In fact, neither masturbation nor intercourse cause acne.
MYTH:
Masturbation causes hair to grow on your palms.
FACT:
How many people with hair on their palms have you seen?
MYTH:
Masturbation causes hair loss, chronic fatigue, and other problems.
FACT:
Internet scam artists have tried to invent a concept called "overmasturbation," insisting that you have to buy their expensive herbal pills in order to counteract the effect of masturbating more than a couple of times per week. But the pills have absolutely no effect — and masturbating once or twice a day will not make your hair fall out, or cause anything else they claim.
MYTH:
Masturbation is bad for your eyesight.
FACT:
Masturbation does not affect eyesight. This myth probably originated because boys often start having to wear glasses at about the same age they start masturbating.
MYTH:
Masturbation causes your penis to stop growing (or) to get bigger.
FACT:
Masturbation has no effect on penis size whatsoever.
MYTH:
Masturbation causes your testicles to shrink.
FACT:
Absolutely false! It is true that if you're highly aroused, your testicles become engorged with blood and may appear slightly larger and heavier, and that masturbating will make them revert to normal. But they will absolutely not be any smaller than after the last time you masturbated.
MYTH:
Masturbation causes acne.
FACT:
It doesn't cause acne. Like the eyesight myth, this is a case of two things that happen at the same time, even though one doesn't cause the other.
MYTH:
Masturbation causes sexually transmitted diseases.
FACT:
Hello? "Sexually transmitted" means from one person to another. You can't give yourself a sexually transmitted disease!
MYTH:
If you masturbate too much, you'll run out of semen and become sterile.
FACT:
Semen is a fully renewable resource. When you ejaculate semen, your body simply makes more — the same way your body makes more saliva after you spit.
MYTH:
People can tell whether you masturbate by how your penis looks.
FACT:
Masturbation does not change the appearance of your penis. (It does tend to cause an erection, but that usually goes away when you're finished.)

If you're talking about an hour before actual sex, then yes, it'll make your sex drive less which means it'll take longer to get you off. Try masturbating two times in a row. Not happening very easily, is it? But the downside is that you'll enjoy sex less.
The lenghty answer about all the myths, while very encyclopedic, is not consistent with experience. You're body will know the difference between masturbation and actual sex, for many psychological and biological reasons. (Smells, sensations, responses from the other partner)
The long term solution to your problem is to masturbate a lot slower, or have your partner give you long bjs. Train your body to be OK with not cumming right away. Live in the sensations that aren't part of orgasm, and you will be able to enjoy sex a lot more pre-orgasm, and therefore last longer.
Guys grow up having to be stealthy about masturbation. You gotta do it quick and quiet, so your mom doesn't walk in on you. The problem with that is now you're pre-trained to be a quick lay and you have to overcome that. Time will heal all.

Yes. Masturbation will help you experience building up to an orgasm and knowing how to do that later with a woman.
No, if you masturbate 24 to 48 hours before having intercourse. Give it a rest and time for more semen to develop. That will help you when have intercourse provided you don't usually have premature ejeculation. Then you will need to squeeze the head (glans) of your penis, when you are coming too soon. That will cause your erection to go away. Then get an erection again, going through the same process until you have satisfied your female partner. You can experience that alone and also in intercourse when you can ask your partner to squeeze the head.

Well, the first fact is true enough since the masturbation (some hour before the next intercourse) helps to keep low the libido and the craving. Anyway, there is no absolute certainty about the possibility to carry on a longer next act then!
About the desensitize of the glans, regular masturbation has nothing to do with that. A way to wane it is to get used to put the foreskin up (wrapped) so to keep the glans uncovered in the underwear, for some year at least.

Well, you can stroke your ego all you like... but some men can go quite a long time in bed if the mood is right. Part of being a good lover is having that kind of self control, so you can give a woman as many mind blowing orgasms as she can handle. Sorry to bruise your fragile ego there.

Yes. Masturbating and watching porn make you last longer in bed because you get used to sexual impulses.
