chilly air intakes do not do any harm on your engine. The chilly air intake device itself doesn't somewhat produce any ability. You get extra ability from a cold air intake gadget because it fools the various sensors on your air intake. maximum cutting-part gasoline injected autos have a MAT (Manifold Air Temperature) sensor positioned contained in the air intake. at the same time as the MAT sensor exhibits the air is chilly outdoors it adjusts the engine's gasoline and ignition settings to compensate. It supplies you extra gasoline to the gasoline air mix and advances the ignition timing. those alterations provide you extra ability. USE THIS TRICK AT your own possibility! The manufacturers of those chilly air platforms do not choose you to attraction to close this. there is an basic trick used on GM autos to fool the engine workstation and earnings an same result. With a touch analyze, you may do an same with your Honda detect the MAT sensor, many times positioned between the air clear out and the gasoline injection throttle body. Unplug the sensor. set up a 12,000 ohm resister in the course of the connectors of the wiring harness plug. this can fool the workstation into wondering that the MAT sensor is indicating the outdoors air is about 30 stages F. the workstation will regulate the gasoline and ignition to that end. i have considered about a 10% boost in ability with this trick. because the workstation is getting a studying from the MAT lead, it received't even save a code. I recommend eliminating the resistor and reattaching the MAT sensor in chilly climate even with the reality that.

There might be a number of things causing this problem...the one that comes to mind (because i had the same problem with my car) is that it might have clogged valves. I bought some fuel injector cleaner liquids from autozone and also fuel system cleaner...might want to give that a try...If it has gotten really bad, then those products won't help too much, but often times they will.
