When people are on trial or are a witness for a trial and they get swron in on the bible, do athiests and other non-belief religions have to put there hand on the bible? and if they do, are they guilt free if they lie since they dont believe in god?

i know they can still be charged with perjury...im just curious if they have any guilt if they do lie(if they dont get caught)

They only raise their right hand... no Bible, no book of any kind. No swearing on anything, just swearing to the tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
So if they are found guilty of not telling the truth, they will have committed perjury, which is a crime.

Aethists and other "non-belivers" do not need to swear on the Bible. Sometimes, for muslims, a copy of the Q'aran is procured. In any case, anyone who refuses to swear on the Bible still has to take an oath, and are bound by it. So, if they lie, they can be charged with perjury.

No, they do not have to swear in on a bible, they do still have to take an oath to tell the truth though. So yes, they can be guilty of perjury.
