Going with the young players is probably the best thing to do. What they really need is a good bench manager, a guy like Quinn belongs in the 70's. These days a coach needs to study the opposition, and know who to play to counter.

Also most Canadians feel that Todd Bertuzzi's sucker punch on Steve Moore was disgusting. Bertuzzi sat out 13 regular season games, then was re-instated after the lockout.

In the middle of a "Relax, It's Just A Game" and "Play Safe" campaign, in which Hockey Canada is trying to tell all Canadians that being Sportsmanlike is more important than winning. Hockey Canada decided to add Todd Bertuzzi's name to the list of players for the Turin Olympics.

Odds are that if most Canadians hated what happened to Steve Moore, then most of the hockey world also hated it. Especially when we are talking about "elite" players. The Team Canada players are not your average goon!

As seen in many sports, team chemistry and team spirit can be severely dissrupted by just one player. Having Todd Bertuzzi on the Olympic team may just have been the main reason Canada go no medal that year.

Perhaps if Staal or Crosby were in his spot we'd have won the gold.

Crosby Lecavalier Spezza Thorton Sakic Iginla Heatly Cheechoo Stall Richards Briere Bergeron Pronger Phaneuf Niedermyer
Jovanovski Campbell Bouwmeester Brodeur Luongo.
That would be my team.A few surprises on defense but the big 4 will play most of the time anyways and they're used to it. Two extra centers, but that's OK they can play any forward position.

your list is pretty good minus rob blake.. he getting too old and slow... the young talent weve got is plentiful.

brenden morrow is a pretty good defensive forward, he can score, hes not afraid to stick up for his teammates, and hes a good leader -- hes a shoe-in for the next canada team.

brian campbells been opening eyes this year with his offensive ability, but he can do it on both sides of the ice.

cheecho might be included for his goal scoring ability as well as his chemistry with thornton

in net, cam ward should get a shot as a 3rd goalie.

ryan smyth should captain the next team

Your picks sound pretty good to me....but you can add Cheechoo to the list and then the circle will be complete. But, didn't you know that as long as a player is A "FOG" then they're on the squad? "Friend of Gretzky"....so Cheechoo probably definitely doesn't have a chance.
