dont have any real freinds to ask question off? i am amazed at some of the personal question people ask in the hope of getting good advice. i am not being judgematal and i belive in everyone to there own but does any one else think these questions are a bit strange?

sometimes friends just tell you what you want to hear in order not to offend you on here nobody gives a fck.

There are some friends I wouldn't want to ask but it's better to get an opinion from someone you don't know who can be neutral about your questions. There are some real losers out there who answer some of these questions but I think the percentage of people who are really trying to help is much greater. Some of the questions are stupid but some of the questions are what is bothering someone and it helps to get things off your mind once in a while be it stupid or not.

If you go on to the "pregnancy and parenting" section, You will see hundreds of them.
What I think it does show is how fragmented society has become. Years ago (but not that many) you would have had you parents or aunts living close by to ask, but now, we spread all over the place.
I have 4 siblings. The closest is 10 miles away, the furthest 300.

I think it's because people can ask questions and get answers from people they don't know. That way they won't be affected in the future by asking it. Also the wide range of (sometimes) useful answers make it an overall very popular place.

That's the point....Sometimes people would like to remain somewhat "anonymous"...or perhaps get unbiased opinions....your friends will tell you what they think you want to hear.... Here at YA you can ask the questions....strange or not, and get candid, straight forward answers....

Yes strange. But sometimes I would rather ask someone outside my family for a opion b/c family can be baised or just plain can't hear u.

I do think they're strange, but I'm starting to think that maybe they just don't feel comfortable asking people they know. They want to remain anonymous. ...But sometimes it's a little creepy lol!

yes, I think questions here are very strange and some answers, many answers are beyond strange

Actually, I don't think they're strange.
Much of it is from kids, who feel insecure and uncomfortable asking their parents and friends such questions. The anonymity helps them overcome their reticence.
