It seems wives will sometimes divorce their husbands before their Dells. Am I missing something? Hello, ladies!!! He can't look at internet porn if he doesn't have a computer! Why does this not occur to some of you? Just throw it in the garbage! Are we that addicted to our electronics that living without one has become the unthinkable? If your husband doesn't like it he can explain to the judge why he wants to divorce you b/c you won't let him look at porn. I'd love to see the judge's face for that one. C'mon, ladies, take charge!

Hi there - I didn't ask if you thought it was okay for husbands to look at porn. I'm indifferent on that issue. I don't care about that. I'm asking this of women that have a problem with their husbands doing this.

Let me say again the question is not "Do you think it's okay for a husband to look at porn?" If that was the question I would have written it that way.

Addiction to porn does not end with throwing the computer away. An addict will always find a way to get their fix. Sadly, internet porn addiction has become a huge problem and is destroying more marriages and relationships than some people care to admit.

There are magazines and VCRs, some people even get some on their cell phones these days, or renting on TV from cable.

It might only frustrate him and make him want sex more than he already does. Some wives really don't like to do it more than twice a day.

Also, the PC is useful.

A much healthier approach I think is to just watch it with him. See what turns him on and why. Maybe try to be or do some of that for and with him. Maybe it turns you both on. Anyway, it only becomes a problem I think if or when he doesn't want to get with real women and likes the porn instead.

I think throwing away the computer is going overboard. I believe the real issue is the need to look at porn. I know that there are obvious reasons for looking at porn. But if porn is such a problem that its ruining a marriage than thats an addiction. With any addiction theres a void in that persons life that makes them turn to whatever it is they're addicted to. So to solve the problem you would first have to tackle that hurdle.

Come on Ladies take charge was the last thing that you said....good point, if your upset with your man looking at porn...do something about it. If you are not filling the needs of your men, take charge and make them feel like real men. You all don't put out and then expect your men to just be able to control their desires and needs. When was the last time that you took charge and made your man feel like a real man. If your not going to do your job as a wife, then let him do what he needs to do to get some relief. Besides, what gives you the right to throw out something that you both probably bought together, and if you didn't help buy it and pick it out, then it's not yours to throw away. Relax, some woman are way too uptight....this is why men look to other woman on and off line.

So nobody else in the house can have access to a computer because men are sick ?? What solution is that ? Why cant he just stop looking at porn ? Why cant more men adopt the idea that viewing porn and going to strip clubs are not good for your relationship ?? Why cant more men hold other men accountable for these actions ? Why cant men try to be better human beings ?? Why is it that women always have to pay the price for men being bad ?

Very true, but if Hubby is intent on looking up porn then he will do so no matter what you do. I am sure he has friends or co-worker's houses to go to. Although, getting off in a friend's house is not usually a turn on. Throwing away the computer will just make things a little more difficult, but not impossible. To all the ladies who are or have lost a relationship to the internet...you are not alone!

Why should the entire family be punished because one member is unable to excercise self-control. If there are children in the home they need access to the computer for school research, projects and being able to print etc...
Also, the schools frequently communicate via the internet to inform parents of absence alerts as well as enable parents to see what assignments are being given in class. This is especially helpful when your child has missed school and needs to make-up work.
A wife need only set the content restrictions to high on her computer and to set the password to something only she knows. However, there are some back doors to some sites and she will have to be on the watch for those so that she can add them to the list of sites not permitted.

Darling, it almost sounds like you want to "kill the messenger". Computers are useful when used for the right purposes. And, what prevents someone to go find another computer elsewhere to do whatever he wants to do?

Most often, women see the motives and patterns of distrustful behavior in their men watching porn over the internet. The first thought that comes to their minds is "if this now, what else next?".

Unless people begin to empathize and understand each other's feelings and are willing to make changes to their behavior, marriages won't simply work. Do you agree?

I agree to an extent, however, a computer is necessary in many's lives. Especially if you have children. They need it for school. It really makes sense tho, what you've said. I guess for me, I don't care that much. I'd rather have the computer, if he looks at porn, oh well, its not a big deal.

Their interest in internet porn is a symptom of another problem. My sister used to say her husband wasn't into sex, she had to beg for it and be grateful to get it once a month.......yet, gosh, he looked at asian porn online all the time....do you really think he had a lack of sex drive? No.....he just wanted something different than what he had at home.

I wouldn't throw out the computer I would start looking at porn myself, perhaps printing it and putting it all over the place.....yeah, compare other body parts to his, that should crush his little ego!
