just a small legality for u: There are is no turkish border in Cyprus. There is what we call a "Green Line" that divides the occupied from the free areas. You go through the Green Line Crossings to go to the occupied areas. Officially that line is called cease fire line.

Yes the jeep tour run during December, you need to pass the borders from nicosia in order to entry the turkish cypriot side so you can go to famagusta. ( To access the turkish border you have to pay insurance is not more than 30 pounds)
