Ha! While some 12 year olds/13 year old may have good heads on their shoulders, most don't. That's why 13 year olds do not support themselves and live alone. As far as I'm concerned, everyone is a kid until at least 18 (well, for boys possibly until 30).

Dude, You just asked the 12 year old question. I get it man.. I promise!
When I was 12, I had already taught myself how to play guitar and bass and drums. I got a band together and wanted to start touring! I was allowed to play, but I wasn't allowed to be an adult... simply because it wasn't possible. Your parents aren't trying to make you feel un-important, and they aren't saying you are an idiot... but you are a kid dude.
I am 29 years old now, and I promise... you will wish you were a kid again one day.. I do, and I'm not even really old yet!
Tell me this... what is it exactly that has you asking these questions today? What are your parents not letting you do because of your age?

The fact that you believe you are personally able to me decisions for yourself may, on a general level, be true. However, most 12-year-olds don't. Most of them wouldn't remember to eat regularly or brush their teeth, if no one was around to remind them. Now, maybe you, at 12, think that kind of stuff is no big deal. However, it is a very big deal if you want to not get sick and die or lose all your teeth. Kids that age, for the most part, are unable to look at the big picture as a person over the age of 18 can.

Because you are not a teenager until you duh reach 13! If your age does not have teen at the end of it, then you are not a teenager! As for the passport thing kids and teenagers grow and change so quickly that the government want the most recent picture possible.

I call a lot of people "kids"! and I think the way someone behaves and acts.. is how they should be called not their age... I know a 9 year old that acts older than some 15 year olds... But They are all "kids" to me! Get a Job. Pay your own bills. Buy your own clothes and pay rent..... and so on ..and then you'll be grown-up.

What you think you know, and what is reality are often two very different things. Adults know that and so will you when you're about 20 years old. You'll know it again when you're 25 and so on. You think you're mature. You think you've figured it all out. Coming from someone who's been there, I can tell you that you're far from an adult my friend.
Enjoy being young. Adulthood isn't everything you clearly think it is.

You don't want to rush wanting to be treated as a grown up. Trust me. Enjoy being a kid as much as possible. When you get older.. having more responsibilities and having to pay more money for things (not having kid discount prices), you'll wish that you were still a kid.
You'll understand when you're older.

because they haven't hit their teenage years. "thirTEEN," "fourTEEN"...ect. and if you are under 18 arn't an adult. And seriously you don't want to grow up fast. believe me. i don't know how being in 2nd grade went so fast now i'm in college.
And the whole 12 year olds pay for a certain thing while 13 year olds pay for something else...thats how life goes. they have age brackets. usually its 13 and under get a cheaper price. and 14 and over pay the "adult" price.

I think we're old enough to be independent and make decisions ourselves?....
No you're not. Don't take that as an insult because it's not. But young people are usually not psychologically developed to be independent and make reasonable, logical decisions for yourself.
