he is using you for whatever you are giving him. he will bore quickly and easily. and that's not to say that you're not a good catch or a really good girl. you probably are and you have to be mature to be dating someone 7 years your senior. but...he can't even take you to a bar or a club. do you think he's not going to go because you can't? most likely not.
at 17, you don't really need to be serious about a boy, anyway. if things go wrong for you two, consider it a learning experience and move on. when you're 24, you will see and understand that this guy is a complete jerk for dating a 17 year old.

There is a huge difference between 24 and 17, and I'd tend to wonder why a man of that age would be interested in a woman so very much younger than himself. If you were my daughter, my first thought would be that he's some sort of predator (even though that may not be the case at all, it would be my knee-jerk reaction as a mom!) and I'd likely notify the authorities.
At 17, I'd advise you to concentrate on your schooling and on young men closer to your own age. After you've gotten your education and begun a career path for your life, a seven-year age gap won't be nearly so big a deal, but at this point you'd be an extremely rare young woman to be able to handle a relationship such as this.
