1. Watch [sports] - It's interesting and the outcome is uncertain. Your team could win or lose so there's some excitement and potential for disappointment. There are statistics to memorize. The more you know about a team, the more likely you'll know if they will win or not. There are memories as well where perhaps they played as a youth or went to games with their dads.
2. Drink - Alcohol gives you a buzz and loosens you up so you can be more "fun loving". Beer gives a light buzz so you can better enjoy the game.
3. Friends - People need some social contact to stay sane. You form your own mental persona by bouncing ideas and thoughts off of friends. It keeps everyone civilized.
4. Marriage - There's no reason to exclude the spouse from "game day". I know husbands like it when their wives are interested in their hobbies. There's also a requirement for some space where you have hobbies and interests that don't include your wife. Having a wife doesn't mean everything else has to be dropped. If she required it, I might consider counseling since that's going to cause problems sooner or later.

The same reason women like to watch romance movies, drink fancy drinks, do their nails, shop and talk. Just because you're married doesn't mean you lose your friends.

Why not? Men watch football and hockey games too. It's their recreation, women like to watch chick-flicks and go shopping.

who said its just for men. i like to do it to. my fav is to drink beer and play video games w/ my friends( guys). love to do it and i do that a lot

because, thats what you do with your friends. although some guys watch american football instead of real football, or rugby
