For the past 1-2 months I have measured 2 weeks smaller than I should (my fundal height)...But, the baby seems to be growing fine... I was wondering if maybe eating before I would go to an appointment would make me measure any bigger???

Eating before you go in might help but wouldn't recomend that...you need your true messurements...if the doctor isn't concered have no fear your baby is fine and congrats :-) and best wishes

Well, my doctors would always tell me to eat before an appt (especially if I was getting an ultrasound) because it will make the baby more active. However, I don't think eating is going to change your fundal height. I wouldnt worry to much about this as long as your eating a healthy diet and resting enough. They could be wrong about your due date and or date of conception, it's happened to a lot of women I know who were measuring wrong.

lololololol.

Oh jeez.

That measurement isnt used to determine the gestaional age, or gestational development of the baby, its used to make sure you're growing at a predictable rate. So long as you're bigger each time you go in, without a lapse or too much growth, thats all theyre looking for.

Your uterus expands to fit the baby. When you're internal anatomy runs out of room it will push out of the abdominal cavity and you will have a bigger belly.

Eating more will do nothing but compormise your health, and add fat to your body, not growth.

lol. This goes down in my book as the cutest question i've seen.

Fundal height is an AVERAGE. You are just fine.

If you feel you aren't getting enough calories try one more small meal per day.

A 1/2 bagel and a piece of fruit.

1/2 cup rice or pasta with a cup of veg

Etc.

Also be sure you are getting enough protein!

If the baby is growing fine and you are already eating enough and its a healthy diet then don't worry about it. Your body will proably catch up in the end. I had a friend who just had a baby and you couldn't even tell she was pregnant until the last month.

The Dr. is measuring the size of your uterus. So, eating won't help you there! As long as the baby is growing fine, there is no need to worry about your size. Good luck!

That doesnt sound like a good idea to me, you want your measurments to be the real thing, that sounds to me like you would just be "cheating" to make things look better for the doctor, You want your doctor to really see how things are going, for your sake and the sake of the baby.

don't worry. My first one was little the whole time. She measured little and was born little. Now she is 16 and 5'7. Make sure you are eating healthy and taking care of yourself. Don't worry so much about the size and you should about the health.

if your doctor says everything is fine then don't worry about the measurement of your stomach. my belly is way bigger than it should be but im also expecting my second child. everything varies from woman to woman so don't stress about it.
