Doomsday vs Classic Thor

In many ways, Doomsday is DC's version of an evil Hulk. Some of the differences. Doomsday does not get stronger as he gets angrier - he simply starts at a very high level (it increases if he was defeated by a stronger opponent). He also doesn't regenerate like the Hulk. Doomsday's regeneration is in the form of a rebirth which allows for constant genetic improvements - so he can never lose the same way twice. His speed and reflexes are much faster than Hulks (based on the many comments Superman made during their fight) and probably faster than Thor's.

I wanted to provide a little background for users not as familiar with Doomsday. In a straight hand-to-hand combat, this fight goes to Doomsday. Doomsday is much stronger than Thor (especially after his defeat to Superman), there's little room for argument here. He's faster and can withstand magnitudes more punishment.

In order for Thor to win this fight, he would need to effectively use the additional powers and equipment that is his birthright. Out-muscling Doomsday via the hammer isn't going to be enough. He's used this on the Hulk and while its effective (Hulk don't like hammer), it won't be enough to take Doomsday out - he's far too strong for that.

Thor wins this battle with fighting skills honed over millenia, with berserker rage (increases his strength by a factor of at least 10) and the use of the "belt of strength" (doubles his strength); in addition to the hammer.

If there is a second battle, Thor might gain the advantage by switching tactics and relying on the mystical forces available to him - matter manipulation, god blasts and dimensional portals. This is normally against his warrior's code, as Thor would rather fight a bare knuckles type fight as he sees this to be more honorable. He'll learn from the first meeting. The second battle wisks Doomsday into, hopefully, a space dimension that leaves him trapped for a long time.

It is this second tactic that can save Thor in future encounters. As far as I know, Doomsday cannot develop a defense against mystical interdimensional teleportation. Thor better not lose his hammer because if he does, its curtains for him, for good...

Winner - Thor

Doomsday eventually. Thor may find someway to beat him the first time, let's say with pure strength as Superman first used. However, Doomsday constantly mutates to become smarter or stronger so he would eventually become too smart or too powerful in a later incarnation for Thor to win.

Remember Superman beat the Hulk but Doomsday in an early incarnation KILLED Superman. A later incarnation would be deadly to Thor.

Doomsday p3wns Thor!!! Yes, Thor can strike from range by throwing Mjolnir or calling down "the might of the storm" but Doomsday will NOT get tired & he will NOT stop fighting. Also, Loki will most likely do something to assist in Thor getting the beatdown of his life because that's how Loki rolls.

My heart says Thor. But Doomsday killed Superman (for a while, anyway) and I have a hard time believing Thor would beat Superman. By math then Doomsday > Superman > Thor. Ergo Doomsday > Thor.

But my heart still says Thor.

I've got to say Thor, here's why.

Doomsday is the product of genetic engineering. (science.)

Thor is magic (supernatural.)

Supernatural >> science.

Of course, that's assuming that Thor recognizes the threat the Doomsday represents, and changes his usual tactics accordingly. I'm giving him a lot of credit on the quick wits front here, because I want to see an otherwise-even fight.

Rune Force Thor amps his Speed with The Odin force. Then uses all his Magic to warp Doomsday out or uses God Blast, a blast that kills Immortals with for added measure his Teleportation to wipe out Doomsday.

thor very easily.

Especially the latest incantation of thor which not only had the odin power, but had "rune magic" which wasn't really explained but seemed to be the magic that is behind all creation and destruction the most powerfull force there is.

Classic thor would still obliterate doomsday though.
