What are you talking about with the scoring leaders? Five of the top ten scorers in the NHL - Crosby, St. Louis, Lecavalier, Spezza and Briere - are Canadian. If you look at the top 20, then 10 are Canadian. So, it's not like we don't have good offensive players.

The problem in the last Olympics is that Hockey Canada put together a bad group. They had slow-footed tough players who stood no chance against the faster, more skilled Europeans. I'd expect that they correct this for the next Olympics, and that Canada will be a competitor for gold. I don't think any of us Canadians expect to win any tournament easily, but I also think we're going to be a lot better with the guys we have now.

We have a ton of guys who can score - Iginla, Heatley, Spezza, Crosby, Stall, Lecavalier, Thornton, etc. - as well as good defenders and great goalies. We'll be okay.

And you're right - there's no way that we can win relying on guys like Bertuzzi or some of the other guys who stunk up Torino.

I wasn't aware that they had picked a Team Canada yet although I might have missed it.

The last Olympic team was not a huge success. I agree! They did not jell as a team and did not fit the requirements for the international game.

However, Hockey Canada has a lot of talent available, both young and experienced, to pick and develop a strong team for the next international tournament whether it be the Olympics or the world hockey championships. The success of the team will depend on the management level's ability to pick the best people to pick the team and those people being able to evaluate the talent available to get a team of players who will jell together and be able to compete against the best players from the rest of the world.

To say that "Canada Sucks" in an international tournament indicates a lack of understanding of the advancements the other hockey powers have made. Canada's NHL players are not guaranteed a victory by showing up. They will ice a good team but will have to play their "A" game to win.

I agree with the coach. Pat Quinn never won so much as caremel coated frosty at DQ.
Your right the selection process was a little wacked. Young bodies is the key. Young guys with lots of determination, rubs off on the vets who need that boost from the same old ho hum.
I like Don Cherry's theory: line mates.
Heatly/Spezza
Thornton/Cheechoo

What a line Crosby, Staal, Kariya. Whoa!

I'm not in the mood to think right now LOL so what i read what Craig S said he is right. give him the 10 pts he deserves it. we have sick young players that are going to be there and yes are last team put together was horrible Gretzky was being nice to the veteran players that are good but not as good as there prime and to give them that last chance cause there about to retire. and yes players like Crosby, spezza, Phaneuf should of been on the list the last time but they will be there for sure.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!1

first of all I am a Canadian but yes I have heard of these players
lemieux has been ill with parkinson's or cancer I was under the assumption that yzerman gretzky have retired. Bertuzzi got in some legal trouble.

Its not about putting talents , its about using it the right way. Reason 2006 USA team was bad. They have gifted players like Modano , Dipetro , Gionta , Blake , Weight and etc. They could not co-exist so they lost. Same with 2002 USA men basketball team(Won a bronze with talent like Iverson , Duncan , James , Anthony , Marbury and etc.)
