I have a Sony Vaio FE770G laptop and use Skype a lot. The problem is my laptop keeps logging me out if I do not use it (even for a short time). This means I miss calls. It is not the power settings in XP as I have checked / corrected them.
How do I get the pc to stay loggod-on?

It is not sasser (specific search done for this) or any virus detected by Norton.
How can I stop pc logging me out, as my calls do not come through when I am not signed-in?

If it is showing the "Welcome" screen where you can click your name to log in, that is normal. You are actually not logged out fully, it's the same as locking your computer (if you have a password set). After so long, Windows will go into StandBy and will lock your computer.

I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some drive problems can be easily fixed by yourself using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.
