I'm thinking that America and the world lost a national treasure when Archie Bunker and All in the Family and its spin-off Archie Bunker's Place went off the air back in the early '80s. That kind of humor was very effective in combating narrow-minded bigotry. I think it's time for a new Archie Bunker who defies all the politically correct crap we see these days and brings to light again the true heart of the important issues facing our society today. What do you think?

Now let's see. What would the new Archie want? To bomb Iran? banish gays to Canada? build a new Berlin wall along the Mexican border? while he himself would have avoided the draft or gone AWOL, be a closeted "pantywaist," and depend on illegal immigrants to supply him with cheap groceries.

Oh, I forgot we elected him president, didn't we?

Just watch the six o'clock news.

And burst your sides laughing.

. . . er, I meant, bust yer gut.

(Gotta watch my PCspeak 'round Macho Bunker, right?)

Yo!

I miss archie and the all in the family cast a lot! but I don't know if anyone could pull it off again. Although he was mean and a bigot- at heart he was nice just misguided by sterotypes.
I think it may also not work because since many misconceptions have passed and people are integrated there isn't much of an excuse for someone being so full of hate

Write the script and send it to Norman Lear. I forgot he is one of the PC crowd. The nanny state mentality that permeates our culture is killing us.
