Asus says your board has an Award Bios chip.
Award says the beep code signifies Video Card fault.
Some sources say That is the ONLY code Award has.
Other sources list a small variety.
Conflicting info such as that is not unusual,,,it's called "undocumented"---the Companies dont publish the data.
Award also has an On-Screen display of various errors.
(No help in your case,,,with no display)
On Screen Error Msgs:

Aother source of Error Codes:

And another short list:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Beep Code you're getting is definitely Video Card related.
*You've ruled out a Faulty Card by testing it in another PC
*One possibility is that it's not actually seated properly/fully in the ASUS board
--I'm sure you've had it in/out several times already,,Try it again and Be Double Extra Certain it's Fully Seated
--You might even inspect the Slot and see if there's not some crap in it,,,piece of paper,styrofoam packing,etc,etc
* I have never set-up an SLI board,,,so I do Not know for a fact.
--It MIGHT have a primary/secondary Graphics Slot arrangement??
I cant get the manual to download,,but I found this in FAQ's
I want to use ASUS EN7800GT Dual/2DHTV on ASUS A8N-SLI Series motherboard, what should I pay attention to?
Answer
For A8N-SLI Deluxe and A8N-SLI Basic, please change EZ selector card to single card mode and plug EN7800GT Dual into PCIEX16_1 slot.
For A8N-SLI Premium, please plug EN7800GT Dual into PCIEX16_1 slot. Then please enter BIOSàAdvancedàSLI configuration and set AI Selector to “single Video Card”.
And this
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
How can I switch between Single Video card and Dual Video card(SLI) on A8N-SLI Premium? I can't find EZ selector which used on A8N-SLI/A8N-SLI Deluxe all over this motherboard.
Answer
A8N-SLI Premium can support newest technology which called "AI Selector". "AI Selector" can switch betwen Single Video card and Dual Video card(SLI) via software or BIOS.
The motherboard support CD comes with ASUS AI Selector utility that allows you to set the video card mode of your system. Else, you can enter
BIOS -> Advanced -> SLI configuration -> AI-Selector to select Single Video Card and Dual Video Card
Another one,,,Maybe??
Why can't A8N-SLI boot up if I plug one memory stick on DIMM_A1?
Due to hardware limitation, you must plug the memory on DIMM_B1 or DIMM_B2 if using just one memory stick.
I would like to know if there's any pre-requisite setting up a SLI system using A8N-SLI Deluxe
Answer
Please make sure both the motherboard and graphics cards are SLI-ready in hardware and software.
Motherboard:
- The selector card between the two PCI Express slot should be set at "SLI mode". (Only for A8N-SLI/Deluxe)
- The BIOS must be enabled in SLI mode. The default setting of A8N-SLI Deluxe is "Auto".
Graphics cards:
- Two Nvidia-certified SLI graphics card from the same model / the same brand
- Both cards need to be connected by an SLI connector
- The latest VGA driver must support SLI mode.
(Do not use VGA driver from the support CD, download the latest VGA driver from Nvidia web site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_66.93.html)
Operating System
- SLI mode only supports Windows XP
(***If You are using a single card,,find that Switch---"selector card between the two PCI Express slot "--- and make sure it's NOT set to SLI )
**Power Supply???
I almost "hate" when folks jump to conclusions about "Power Supply too weak",,that's seldom the case.
But,,,I looked at ASUS website,,,they have a LARGE power supply recommended,,,25Amps...with certain video cards.
That's a minimum 450~500 Watt Power Supply,,,on average/typical P.S.
I DOUBT it's a PowerSupply Prob,,but it IS a possibility
.....................................................................................................
It sound's Tricky to me,,to get the proper Selection for whatever mode of Video you wanna use.
My best suggestion is to carefully go back thru the Manual,,and make certain the Correct Video Mode is selected for your hardware.
If that doesnt work,,,Contact ASUS for some ideas.
Slim possibility,,,but if everything is "right",,,you Might have a Bad Board?
I have a hunch the settings for whatever video card setup are not set correctly.
In The FAQ's about the 7800GT,,,I'd Try that anyway--regardless what VidCard you have if you're using a Single Card.
Cant Hurt anything,,and you can always set it back.
Good Luck!!
I hope it's just one of those,,Doh!Dumm! things
