Profitable is a very relative term. You have movies like The Lion King or Toy Story that make BILLIONS in toy sales and on dvd. I am guessing you are looking for the top 10 in ticket sales in US and Internationally?
The Lion King made billions on products like toys, clothing, and anything with its image on it from pencils to bedspreads. Box office is only a small fraction of the money made on many films like Spiderman and Shrek.
Think of Sesame Street. The show has no advertisements during it because it is one big hour long advertisement for the toys and other merchandise. The merchandise pays for the show, which in turn makes people buy more merchandise.

There's a difference between the top grossing movies and the most profitable.
Most profitable will include:
the Blair Witch Project
the Passion of the Christ
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
All of which were huge hits made with very little funds.

hotrod496 hit the nail on the head, you might also be interested in another similar fact.
The Blair Witch Project was in the Guinness Book Of World Records for "Top Budget:Box Office Ratio" (for a mainstream feature film). The film cost $22,000 to make and made back $240.5 million, a ratio of $1 spent for every $10,931 made.
