Why did Madonna & hubby adopt a baby boy and remove him from his culture. With ALL her money why didn't she help all of baby David's village and just sponser the whole village? I am sick too death of celebrities showing off like that! Your thoughts on this and similar situations?

Jeannie is right - Madonna was there to donate time and money to help this village. Even if she didn't, why can't she grow her family in a way that's right for her WITHOUT supporting an entire village?? She is no more responsible for doing that than you and I are. It's a great thing to be able to do, but adopting a child is a way to create a family, and not a charity. I am thankful for people like her and Angelina Jolie who DO use their money to help people worldwide, including their children's birth countries.
What about people like Meg Ryan who adopt internationally and don't make splashy headlines? Why aren't folks on the bandwagon demanding she support the village in China where her daughter is from? Maybe she does and maybe she doesn't - it's really not our business. Remember - you would not enjoy public scrutiny, judgment and criticism for how you created your family, and strangers opinions of what you should have done differently. Have the same respect for celebrities that you would want for yourself.

oh my god I totally agree with you and I thought I was crazy!!!!
All these celebrities need to get together if this really is such an important cause for them! All these little moron's trudging around adopting babies from everywhere like madonna, brad and angelina .... just some of their money combined would more than suffice not only for africa but other small countries as well.
This is just a silly little trend they have going on, just like Paris Hilton and her puppy. Madonna's gonna push that poor lil thing into Kabbalah too just like that was their stupid lil trend that she started. Yeah.... I really don't like madonna.

I think that she did the right thing. This baby has no mother the father could not take care of him, he was in orphanage sick & under weight- she saw him and felt for him.
Even if you help some of the orphanage, I am not sure that the money goes into the right hands; they are so much corruption going on in those countries.

why did she not adopt a child that had no parents,ok yes this child will have a better life but she has taken him away from his dad.she coulda adopted an orphan or done something that benefitted the whole village.

i think that deep down they do it out of generosity but, alot of it is just for publicity and to me that is sick. ofcoarse they have enough money to help a small country but, they want to be in the spotlight as saving one child! well i need some money but, you dont see them helping us americans out!
