I don't see why you just buying a new phone has anything to do with it... if they are giving away the phones as gifts thn that's exactly what it is... a gift and just becase you just bought a new phone shouldn't have anything to do with it... I guess if you really don't need your job then go ahead and give your boss a foot up his a@s... however if you need your job then just take it with a grain of salt and forget about it... Merry Christmas anyways...

Was it your boss who told you that you were not getting the phone or someone else? If someone else, your boss may have also been told that you were ineligible.
1. While you PAID for your mom's cell phone, put it in her NAME instead of yours, since she will be the primary user.
2. I find it incredible that a manager would intentionally choose to be that horsey about a cell phone awarded as a gift. Find out what company rule or policy is preventing you from receiving the phone.
3. After you have done #1 and #2, get in contact with the person who denied the gift and ask for reconsideration of the matter. Or ask for an alternative gift of similar value.
Good luck.

The only thing that will do is make him angry and you even more angry. Begin by explaining it to him and if necessary to his superior. You should be able to get things worked out if you keep your cool and explain very simply to him. Make sure (when you have time) that you read from the Gospels this Holiday Season. They always cheer me UP! You might even start a Bible Study and Invite your BOSS to take part. This would certainly be a step in the right direction! I hope that things begin to brighten there for you. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Just tell your boss that the phone you bought was for your mom for Christmas. How was he supposed to know that. Be reasonable if you expect others to be reasonable.

If the giveaway didn't specify you couldn't win if you'd recently bought a phone, then they should give it to you. If they are not, then take the high road. Let them look like the cheap bastards. Don't go ballistic & lower yourself. Get your new phone from a competitor with a good deal.

Before you make any assumption, you might want to gather the facts. I suspect there is a good explanation for this. You might start by calmly explaining to your boss what happened.
But I would want to make sure I have a good job before I leave -- whatever turns out to be the story.

If hes pissing you off!
Piss him right off but only about the phone - just tell him you gave it to your mum!
If he see the phone just say you swapped your new phone with the one you gave your mum (the one wich you won).
If he refuses tell he to ask your mother, i hope your mother gives him a good lecture a tells him for real that shes ganna slap him for being such a suck up basket!
