First, if you have mold, then you should treat your shower to a bleach bath. Dilute a cup of bleach into a gallon of water and cover all of the mold. Sometimes I just pour the bleach on full strength (but make sure the room is well ventilated). Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, then rinse away.

That should also loosen up all of the dirt in your grout, making it much easier to clean with a shower cleaner of your choice. Pick one that smells good and work it in. I'm old fashioned-- I like Comet powder.

If the shower is really dirty, you might have to clean it a few different times. Make sure you have a good sponge with an abrasive side that won't scratch your tiles.

Good shower maintenance will also make future cleanings easier. Wipe down your shower after its final use for the day, either with your towel or with a squigee. It will reduce water spots and mold formations.

Good luck. Cleaning a dirty shower is never fun.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It really is magic. I've used everything - Lime Away, Clorox, Soft Scrub, etc., but nothing works like the Magic Eraser. I know this sounds like an add but it's not. It really digs the dirt out of textured surfaces, but don't use it on painted walls as it can smudge the paint a bit.

I find that Lysol Mildew Remover (under the name Bathroom Duck in other countries), works best for me. Simply spray it on, leave for 15 minutes, return and spray off. Follow up with a scrub from an abrasive sided-sponge and Softscrub (handy-andy in some countries). Leaves a fresh, rewarding shine!
