I agree with Ginger on this issue.. we're all human beings, and some of us need more help than others. It's our responsibility as human beings to look after our entire species.

For me there were phases. I'm still rewarded, but after trying not to feel taken advantage of, seeing some groups as not being organized or supported correctly, the wind kind of stops blowing those sails like it used to.

If you are doing something for others with the thought of "will I be rewarded for it"....then I think your heart is in the wrong place. You can never go wrong with helping someone else.

Initially, during the first five years or so, yes. After that you get a little burned out by the emotional strain and bureaucracy.
Some one has to do it.

I help people all the time. My reward is knowing in my heart that I helped someone in need. It makes me happy just knowing that.
