It actually depends on the type of PS2. If you have a 1st generation (large) consol, then there is a difference. The silver version runs an upgraded cooler fan that is more quiet, and it also alowed the playback of home burned DVDS. 2nd generation (slim line) consoles have the same spec, but the Silver colour version has a desireabilty aspect to it, as it was made in limited numbers compared to the standard black. This is the main reason that it cost £15 more than the black. It also looks nicer in my opinion.

There are no differences besides the colour. If there were differences there would probably be a difference in the price. They were released at different times but i don't think anyone cares. I reckon silver looks a bit try hard though. That could be a difference.

None other than colour, But i work in a retail shop and most returns on Ps2 are silver ???? weird.
