Well I had similar problem in chilhood. And you know what helped me? One person told me that should stop trying to change myself. Shy people are very likeable. They usually aren't arrogant and they are responsive and intelligent. Just stop feel badly and becouse of your shyness and people will love your personality! Good luck!:)

Shyness or fear of public speaking:
When giving a speech or presentation, or teaching a class, my best way to handle my shyness is to sort of pretend to be someone else. Not exactly change personality, but just think of it as putting on an act -- acting like I'm confident and savvy. Eventually after a while, you don't have to act anymore because you get used to it and it becomes more comfortable, and you do become more confident.

Shyness and embarrassment used to be a big problem. Nowadays I just view myself as being 'on a par' with others and find that meeting people half way goes far in eliminating excessive shyness. As for the embarrassment factor; you just deal with it as best you can. Being embarrassed allows you to rethink the actions which placed you in the predicament and hopefully give pause to think before acting.

They either laugh it off or get mad with embarrasement. With shyness they usuall don't say anything at all and just smile or frown. It all depends on the individual. My younger brother is very shy and sometimes he will ignore girls or stare at ones he's interested in.

Liquid courage. Take a couple of shots (but not too many!) and suddenly you're not shy anymore. (Don't take this answer too seriously or at least don't use it too often. I don't want to be responsible for kick-starting a drinking problem).

Don't speak, just smile. It's better to keep quiet than to open your mouth and show your nervousness. Eventually you'll warm up to whomever you're shy around.

I play the song "it's getting hot in here" and the girls just go crazy, and start taking off their clothes.
