Begin by reading Napoleon Chagnon.

I can and so can you you just have to do the research. I agree that you should read Chagnon and maybe Lizot but there are others as well.
Just as an aside, there has been a huge controversy in anthropology over whether the Yano are truly "Fierce" as suggested by Chagnon. There is a very interesting and informative book that was written by Patrick Tierney called Darkness in El Dorado regarding the destruction of the Amazon by researchers. You should check it out if you are interested in the subject.
