I'm 26 and my boyfriend is 35, he is the oldest guy I've dated...I think more than 10 years and there would be to much of an age difference for me.

I don't think we should allow society to dictate age restrictions in relationships. There is a 21 year age gap between my boyfriend and I (I'm 27). I have never been happier in my life. Just like with any relationship, it needs to have the essentials like trust, understanding, communication, interests, goals, etc. If those elements are in place, then nothing else matters. Love is the greatest feeling in the world, and age shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing it.

A few years ago, I was in a relationship with a girl. I was 37 and she was 19. She came on to me and asked me out. It was exciting at first but, then that 18 year gap got in the way. With her only 19, she could not go into bars or order a drink with a meal. And others huge differences in our lives arose. Not just musical tastes but, she was socially 19 and with me 37, we wanted different things out of life. It really only lasted 9 or 10 months.

I'd say no more than five years older. I'm not too old so anything too much younger than me would be illegal. If I was older I'd go with five years either way. I think that's enough of a gap to have without two people being in different stages of their lives.

Well, my wife is 15 years older than me and our relationship is great! We are both well traveled and have alot in common from music to movies to our beliefs and values...that's why it works. Only the 2 people involved can make that decision.
