There was an article in the Wall Street Journal a few weeks ago about a guy that's driving a brand new Jaguar for free. Jaguar wants him to be seen driving the car.
However, this guy is very rich and has very rich friends. He is among the "who's who" of Manhatten (sp?). Jaguar hopes that him driving the car will encourage other rich people to buy and be seen in Jaguars.

I don't think you and I could talk someone into letting us drive a free car just to be seen in that car.

No. Nothing is free. This advertising will happen in one of two ways: 1) You drive their vehicle (as an employee), 2) A company might pay you to paint or sticker your current vehicle you drive.

Usually they give you a free car for you to drive as a type of advertisement for them and they pay you for the 40h per week you do for them too!

Only in dreams - I did hear of a man from Cosovo who carefully drove his BMW past a million kilometers - he got a new one (good promo story/$ for the company)
