Is it the commercialism getting in the way of the religious message? The religious message getting in the way of a big party? Visiting family? What don't you like about it and why?

It's the commercialism of it all, every year they push this crap on us earlier and earlier. The traffic gets worse and worse because of the shopping.

The stores are the worst, screaming kids, "mommy mommy I want this, I WANT THIS!!!" And parents letting them run wild. I swear it's like a Tasmanian Devil going through those poor stores tearing it up like it's a martigras day without the booze. (If they had that maybe it would be easier to shop!) Or seeing people literally fight over an item because they had their hand on it first and there are 50 of them right where they picked up at.

If that's not bad enough everyone wants bigger and better gifts and it's no longer the thought that counts. Plus spending time with family members that you can't stand the rest of the year because god forbid you should decide to stay home with your immediate family to take a break from life once in a while.

And the fact that everywhere you go there is always Christmas music playing and it's the same damn songs! Believe it or not I don't mind the holiday I just don't like what society has turned it into. It's nothing but chaos, debt, and depressing. I only look forward to new year because then most of it is over with, aside from the Holiday Super Sales, to which I steer clear of and just stay home where it's safe.

All the negativity it generates from unhappy people... You know I am broke, we can't afford Christmas this year, not a special dinner, nothing, no gifts, okay, so what.... that is not what Christmas is all about, yes it is part of it but life happens. So, im not acting like a spoiled brat and complaining. I am embrassing this challenge to make it the best Christmas ever. I am making coupons for my husband, my children have the presents their grandparents sent under the tree (we have a tree because its fake and have had it for a few years). Im not sure how im going to do the whole holiday meal yet, but it doesn't matter. I have my family and we all have our health, what more could I truly ask for that I really need... We go to the activities around town, parades, tree lightens caroling, things like that. It is a wonderful time of the year with or without money...

SO what I like least are people moaning and groaning about how broke they are and can't afford the holiday. Make the most of each and everyday and all is well!

MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Have a GREAT day!

I LOVE Christmas - these isn't anything I really dislike, except for going back to work.

I save all year in a separate building society account so that it is never a drain on finances. I have all the spare cash I need, and if I don't use it then I can buy myself something nice.

I love the entertaining - buying the pressies and seeing the look on surprised faces.

I love the decorations and the carol singing.

As I say there is not much I dislike. Sorry.

With very best wishes for the coming holiday.

Its all a bit commercial and the focus is on things like food and drink, not the family or the act of kindness. To much is emphasised on material things and that stresses me out! I just want to see my daughters face on Christmas morning, the magic in her eyes and feel the love in our hearts and that's enough for me. So I say just have fun with your family and stuff the turkey!!! :D

What I hate is the fact that I really pig out like a lunatic only to curse myself after Christmas and vow that I'll start some healthy eating regime in the new year. Happens every Christmas. I'm such a fat bloater sometimes, I hate it. Too much chocolate, too much cake, too much of everything. Like locusts, I clear the kitchen within days when it took us several weeks of shopping to fill everything up with food. Blooody hate it.

Seeing all of the little kids that are left on the 'wish' trees. I don't know if everywhere has these, but in California, charity groups will get a list of needy kids together, and put them on trees that are in most businesses. I know that every year there are kids that don't get their wish gift, and I think that is the worst part of christmas.

The thing I dislike about Christmas is that some people cannot celebrate christmas and can bearly live and get by, for example homeless people, poor people and it is awful that everyone is happy on christmas but them. After all everyone deserves happiness, joy in their lives!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I think that Christmas has lost its true meaning, it's all about spending money and presents.. I think that just getting together with family and enjoying each other is the best way to celebrate!
