I was told I didn't need a postnatal check? Have I missed out on something important?

this is to check you over, make sure everything healed correctly and most importantly to see how you are doing with a newborn, a lot of mom's suffer from post partum depression and it can get bad without treatment

YES!!!! Six weeks after you give birth you're supposed to go in to make sure you healed properly and nothing is wrong with you. After my first child I went in for my six week and they found HPV. It's cleared up now but I cannot stress how important it is that you go.
