Against

It depends on many things like how old they are—there’s a big difference between a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old—and what kind of freedom they want.

Teenagers will one day be adults and will have to make decisions on their own, so they should have the opportunity to learn how to do that by making some decisions. However, when it comes to the BIG decisions, many teenagers are simply too hormonal and immature, due to lack of real life knowledge and experience, to make responsible decisions. That’s why they have parents to help guide them.

Part of being a parent is to teach your children. Teenagers are especially vulnerable. They think they are adults, think they know it all but they have no experience, no understanding of the way the world really works. That is something that is gained by experience and then shared.

I made mistakes, stupid mistakes when I was a teenager and I got hurt. It seems ridiculous that my children should make the same mistakes when I can protect them from the things I went through. By claiming they are alright and don't need supervision, they prove that they do. I'm 33 and would love someone to look out for me.

Freedom is something that everyone desires, and why teenagers are always considered as ineligible fro granting freedom, is something I don'tunderstand....We teenagers can understand and take our decisions....and I think a limited amount of freedom abt everything in general shoud be given....to teenagers, with trust in them....and this trust in them and their capabilities will lead to them taking good decisions, rather than just defying their parents....

I don't think it should because they haven't learned enough about life and are prone to mistakes. nothing against teenagers or anything but the odds are that once you are 18 you will make a lot of better decisions and won't get into trouble. There are people who do still make mistakes or do criminal stuff or whatever once they become an adult but the odds are better that someone at 18 will be more responsible and able to handle their responsibilty better.

That's hard to say because teenagers are old enough to make their own decisions and face the consequences of their actions, but at the same time, they are still minors in the care of their parents unless you are emancipated. If you want the right to have freedom you must accept the responsibility of making your own decisions and facing the consequences of your actions if need be.

Teenagers should be given freedom, by letting them be independant.

They are old enough to live on their own and should live on their own. Keeping a kid till he/she 18 years old is insane unless the kid is mentally challenged.

Of course, just because they have freedom, that doesn't mean that they can't be disciplined.

I think teenagers should be given a certain amount of freedom and then if they abuse this privilege then they will lose that freedom until they earn back that trust their parents had in them.

they are human too. they need freedom. it's said :"give them freedom to see how far they can go" . at this age they want to find out who they are and try a lot of things (not necessarily good for them). it's indicated to give them freedom but in the same time control them. it's easier to get along with a teenager if you earn his trust
