In response to the recent death of Augustus Pinochet...
Nixon and the American government backed the tyannical dictatoriship of Pinochet over the Marxist (and relatively stable) state beneath Allende.
While I do believe that Nixon did a lot of good on an international level, the U.S. government really screwed up here. We were, first and foremost, anti-communist before we were concerned about human rights violations.

Nixon was a crook that orchestrated the break-in of the Watergate Hotel, and Reagan denied there was such a disease as AIDS, thus millions of Americans died of the disease because there were no funds appropriated for research, care or prevention in his 8 years as president.
There was nothing wrong with Truman, Johnson, or Kennedy.

Johnson started the so-called "Great Society" which was the single worst idea ever implemented by any president. It was supposed to get rid of racism and poverty, but instead made them gov't institutions. It is on the backs of the poor minority voters that the entire Democrat party stands today.

The worst thing that's ever happened to this country is the welfare system.
1 - It destroyed the strong work ethic that was held by most Americans.
2 - It encouraged women to rely on the government for support instead of the "baby daddy" thus destroying the family unit that made America strong.
3 - It helped those women raise a generation of kids who don't understand why they shouldn't also have an easy, work-free life.
4 - It steals billions of dollars every year from hard-working American citizens and gives it to slackers and illegals. That money could be used to fix a lot of the problems about which liberals are constantly crying.
ADDITION: To xxlboxers - Get your history right. Regan did not deny AIDS. It was the gay men that said that the "evil conservatives" were trying to stop them from having lots of gay sex. They refused to believe in AIDS, not Regan.

It would take a book......
Kennedy was the first president to get a Tax Cut for working people.
Otherwise he was a real screw-up.
But Bless Him for proving Tax Cuts work.
The Democrats still hate him for it.
CLINTON, GORE, AND KERRY ALL COMBED THEIR HAIR LIKE, AND TRIED TO WALK LIKE REAGAN.
They were fun to watch as they tried to copy the greatest president ever.
