I know almost all plants would die, animals would die, and humans would die, blah blah blah, it would be really cold/dark, there'd be no wind.... Is there anything I'm missing?
Note: I am not asking what would happen if there was no sun at all, like if it didn't exist.

I guess it depends on how long the rays were blocked and whether all the different types of rays were blocked . Even them just being blocked for a relatively short period of time though could be really devestating. It would affect everything from the temperature to the earths ability to produce oxygen etc via photosynthesis etc to the water levels either increasing or decreasing (both could happen in certain circumstances). There would certainly be mass hysteria and a break down in society due to the darwinian base instincts of people coming to the fore(survival of the fittest).

For a rapid time, no longer something. For long classes, we will die when you consider that there is no longer adequate warmth to realize the Earth. Evolution isn't shown. Its nevertheless a theory, and there is been no information to point that it happens interior of somebody. in case you have ever taken biology, evolution happens from the passing of genes to the offspring. So till you're having babies in minutes or weeks, and have them improve up freakishly quickly as properly, you will no longer have the skill to 'see' evolution.

Trying to calculate what conditions we would have on earth without the sun resulted in a surface temperature of minus 129°C or so, given the fact that the earth core is still hot.
So if you block the light, temperatures will fall to this level in less than a week, i think.
Some earlier time i heard the sun is delivering energy to the planet which is like havind one nuclear plant on every square-meter of land.

We wouldn't feel the effects until 8 minutes after the blocking had occured, then the light would go out.

One thing you are missing though, before all humans die, there would be mass chaos among societies, doomsday callers and the like.

Basically, it would be a sucky day to live.

Well actually you should not think of extinction, as there could still be life, even without sun. You know, bacterias do not need sun, nor do cells. All that would be necessary for life is water, as we know it.
It is thou probable that the new life forms will go extinct when the ice age will come, but why think of such a think? The Sun is due to implode in about... 3 mil years, so we will not assist it.

The effects to the earth would depend on the length of time the sun rays were blocked. The level of destruction would be proportional to the time blocked.

Remember that the earth emits infrared waves as well, thus there would be no sudden freezing of the earth (night time).

Maybe some effects on the moon as the oceans froze and tidal friction was reduced. I'd expect newspaper headlines demanding that the government does something! And I'd get spammed with offers of cheap ski wear.
