are the leftists putting their hatred toward bush above all other issues? i mean, its only natural that they would be mad after the 2000 elections. but it seems that leftists would do anything, vote against anything, say anything, offend anyone, whatever just to put bush and his party down, even go against logic, or change the real logic. since democrats who had the same access to intelligence also voted to go to the iraq war, would democrats would hav supported the war if al gore would have won the elections and started the war? oh and about dems voting for the war, dont forget to point out the technicality of dems not voting for it in as large numbers as reps, then start cursing at me and calling me a far-right super-christian extremist racist and bigot, even though im a libertarian.

When you say "leftists would do anything, vote against anything, say anything, offend anyone, whatever just to put bush and his party down," can you not blame them. Yes it is dirty and politicians SHOULD be bigger than petty suabbling, but the right has been doing that exact same thing to them for 6 years, rarely letting them have a say and rarely attempting to work towards a compromise.
As far as the intelligence and voting to go to war thing, you are right, dems did see the same intelligence, but only after it had worked its way through the right led CIA and Pentagon. And God forbid, even though they lost the election, they try to put faith in the President, even though he was a republican. At that time, who would have thought that someone would make such a strong case for war and made up and distorted intelligence.

The disgust that the left feels for Bush has gone far beyond normal politics, for one thing a good case can be made that both the 2000 and 2004 elections were stolen, the cynical and blatant manipulations of public perception, the total lack of transparency in government decision making, and above all the limitations on our freedoms, the arguably illegal attacks on our privacy thru governemnt programs, and the attack on the environment starting with the rejection of Kyoto. All by a president who had the barest of majorities if he in fact was legally elected in the first place places him beyond forgiveness. I cannot think that ANY other president including Nixon who has had such a catastrophic impact on the US domestically and internationally. Impacts which will reverberate for decades. I pose the question to my cocksure conservative commentators. Regarding the 'powers' that Bush has either achieved thru legislation or just grabbed. You may trust YOUR leader to use these significant attacks on our privacy in a prudent manner. But now the governemnt has these powers which will be difficult or impossible to remove do you have the same confidence in the hypothetical sociopathic Democratic President elected in 2040 being equally prudent. Or might we get another NIxon type who will use these powers against us? For myself I dont trust any president of either party to always be prudent and measured in their use of such wide ranging powers. You guys simply never think of the implications before you act or support a proposal. You jump on the bandwagon based upon superficial rationales with few thoughts about consequences.
The reason why the left is so outraged by Bush is because he has so profoundly damaged this nation in so many differnt ways that literally it may never recover its former glory, economically, politically, internationally and militarily. They squandered the moral highground that 9/11 had given us and turned it into global distrust. You may disagree with me on some specifics but if you dont agree with the general thrust of this response then you are being blinded by look good propaganda and simply not thinking with any kind of vision

Yes, the leftists put their hatred of Bush above all other issues. Most on the left don't even have a firm grasp of the issues anyway. It's easier to call the President stupid than it is to have a meaningful debate about the issues.

I f a Democrat was president, and had handled this fake war in the same manner,I'd be just as angry.I'm a liberal. It's not the party in power,it's the stupidity and arrogance, and not listening to the people that makes the problems.I do believe that a liberal is more concerned with the people af the United states, putting our nation first, not other nations.

It's because liberals have the minds of children. They don't care about reality. They just want whatever makes them FEEL good.
Yes, we'd all love to have all of our soldiers home safely. We'd love it if we didn't have to have an army at all. However, as long as there are others in this world who want us dead, we must be prepared to defend ourselves.
We'd all love to be able to provide for people who are in need. However, the liberal programs have created generation after generation of slackers who aren't needy, but LAZY.
When liberals are losing an argument, they resort to name-calling because they have no facts to back up their opinions.
They have the minds of children. They refuse to think about what will happen 10, 20, 30 years down the road. It's always about whatever makes them happy now.

It's simply another way they can avoid responsibility. By saying that "Bush lied," they trick their own conscience into believing that their party did not vote for THIS war, but some other conflict that is noble and worthy of France's support.
EDIT: For anyone who thinks that Clinton was impeached for cheating on his wife, do a little research before so proudly displaying your ignorance.

Anti-Bush: He lied about his reasons for going to war and our soldiers are dying daily because of it. Has nothing to do with left/right wing, it has to do with right/wrong thing. He was wrong. He won't admit it. Yet the government does nothing about it.
On the other hand, the government impeached Clinton for cheating on his wife and denying it. Most, not all, American men do that every day without consequences.
If the Christian Moral Majority finds Clinton a liar, why don't they see Bush as a liar. At least Clinton's lie didn't get any soldiers killed.

It's more complicated than just hatred of Bush.
Liberals seem to hate the USA, and everything it stands for.
Even though they are now in power, they will still be full of hate.
