We the people had the ability to pass a law on the term limits of the House and Senate at 3 terms maximum. What do think their retirement should be ? Also do you think more could be accomplished?

Tater I believe that it would take them a good 2 years to get all of the info on all of the bills they recieve that it would take them at least that long. I also live in a city that has a term limit of only 2 terms for the city council and unfortunately good bills get tossed away.

Term limits should exist for every office in the Federal Government. One of the biggest problems in congress is that too many of them have been in office for decades and nothing gets done without their approval.

Every person in congress should carry equal weight. That's the way it was designed. Unfortunately, the ones who have been there for four or more terms have too much power.

Their retirement? They should go get a real job like the rest of us. Their retirement package should only be whatever they manage to save before they retire - just like the rest of us.

I agree there should be term limits and heck I even think an age limit...because now we have a lot of old people making our laws...most do not even know what the average American wants...(well most have never been the "average" American...they are mostly rich old people) Hell ol Strom Thurmon did not even know who he was the last few years he was in office...

I agree with you. I think term limits would make them work faster at getting their agendas accomplished. But why not two terms? Just curious as to why you would go with three.

I think it would be great. Like Shaft said, "Term limits should exist for every office."

As for their retirement: It should be like the Presidents retirement plan.

The last is debatable, but I feel long term Congressmen do loose touch with what their constituents want.

I don't support term limits . If you've got the right guy/gal, why not allow them to continue ?? And let the PEOPLE DECIDE !!!!
