I feel sad for him but really sad for his family. He seemed like a good guy. I always did say he's going to lose a finger to a croc, but I never imagined this.

Yes. Especially after seeing the footage of him with his family, and watching the Terri Irwin interview. It is sad that Bindi and Bob will have to grow up without him, but they are handling it really well so far. I felt so bad for Terri, because they were such a great couple, and it was real true love. They all knew that his line of work was dangerous, but I'm sure it was still such a shock to them that he died so soon, since he was such a professional at what he did. And the way he died was just so ironic. I loved the show. He was so full of life and passion for what he did, and was a hero to so many people because of his animal conservation efforts. He was the unofficial ambassador of Austrailia, for God's sake!!! It's just a good thing that his legacy will live on through his family and through others who care as much as he did for something that is so important and necessary.

No it did not.

He died doing what he loved...so I cannot feel sorry for him.

Ditto for Peter Brock.

A man needs to know its limitations. In these cases...it seem that both of them thought they were immortal as they took bigger risks everyday.

But perhaps it is not too hard to understand.
If I had been wrestling crocodiles for 20 years...I would feel pretty cocky too and would probably be fearless.
If I had raced cars for 40 years with the same success as Peter Brock...I probably would think that I am immortal.

However...it is the lack of fear which kill people everyday. Fear makes you evaluate what is safe or not safe. Only stupid people are fearless...
Irwin took some big risks...
While Brock should have been retired from racing. You don't go rallying as a 60 years old if you value your life.

As a volunteer science museum tour guide, I greatly depended on and used the information Steve Irwin provided in his shows, particularly in the areas of wild life conservation and geography. Aside from that, I just plain-out enjoyed watching him. He will definitely be missed...

Yes, it did. I've always respected him, since he was never afraid to do what he wanted to or felt like. And he always dealt with the consequences of his decisions. Yes, he got hurt, and put himself in danger, but he always respected the animals he was around and made an effort not to harm them.

I think the reason his passing affected me so much was because he always seemed so young, strong and full of life. It makes you realize that life can be very short and you need to be able to say "Yeah, I wrestled a crocodile before I died!"

I felt very bad for his family, especially his little girl. I don't know if I was shocked, because he did such dangerous work. I feel bad for the animal loving community, because his work was so meaningful to protection of animals.

Yes I will miss him and so to my son

He watches him every night and I am sad since into the near future all he will see is re-runs. I hope Bindy carries on the path of her father - if only a bit more cautious!

Not really. I didn't know him personally and I never really watched his show. I'm not happy he's dead and my heart goes out to his family. I think it's sad that he died from such a sudden and needless tragedy. But it didn't disrupt my life anymore than any other random person's death would have.

I was very sad too, I loved watching his show with my kids.I feel so bad for his wife and children, it must be so hard dealing with the fact that he died at such a young age, and he passed because of an animal and he loved them so much.
