Here's your scenario:
You got a great job, out of state, with the elite company for your industry, you've been there for less than a year and your job there could take you places. Your family is in another state, you have 2 kids, grade school and todder-they are the only grandkids on your wifes side. Your grade schooler is nervous about starting a new school and sad about leaving her friends and your wife is tight with her parents because she's an only child. You're tired of commuting every weekend back home. You are making a great living in a state with a good economy and your home state is below average economy wise. Here's your catch-22: You got offered another job in your home state, making a decent living, but in a less than marginal economic climate. You will take a pay cut and it is taking a step back going to this other company. But your family is happy and you would survive...what would you do?

If you take the job, you can never work at the one you have now and if you stay and try moving your family for 6 months and it doesn't work out and you go back to your home state, the job offer you have now, may not be there.

Always...family before money and good job. Remember if your family isn't happy, you won't be either no matter how much money you earn.

Family first. Successful people will always succeed. I could tell you what you already know about success, but instead I'll leave you with a really good book to read: "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiosyki. www.richdadpoordad.com

Go with the family. Otherwise what is the point? They are teh reason you are working in the first place.

They grow up REALLY fast, don't miss it! They only do it once.

i'd go with the family. good jobs are hard to find, but it's worth losing one to have a happy family.
