Yep. Chevy rocks. I have a Silverado that no f150 can lay a hand on. Give me a f150 that has 224,000 miles, gets 22 mpg (V8) and has no problems, rides like a caddy, and will still smoke down brand new vehicles (Beat my dads 06 Silvy), then turn around and haul a load heavier than the factory rating. I'm not a cocky jerk, that's just a simple challenge.
Powerstroke diesels on the other hand.............Different story. They kick *** for towing power, and duramaxx's suck.
But hell, that's my opinion, and I'm a die hard chevy girl. Have been from day one.

The only vehicle GM has that is worth anything is the Corvette. They have even had to turn to Opel to make some marginal vehicles (Saturn line). My neighbor has a CTS and that thing is in the shop at least one time out of the month. Ford in the U.S. sucks, but internationally they have some great products (Europe and Australia). They should bring some of their international products to the domestic market. Ford owns two great car companies - Mazda and Volvo. It looks like they might actually be using this to their advantage. GM has Saab, but they don't seem to be capatilizing on this. Sorry, but if I had to choose between the two, it would be Ford. I'm not a huge fan of either, though.

I've either owned or driven/rented Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chrysler, Nissan, Mazda, etc. products. And I've found this to be true about these makes and just about anything else made by man...All are nice; all are relatively reliable; all need to be taken care of to work properly; all will eventually fail at one point or another; and every single one of them will eventually end up in someones junk or salvage yard.

Now as far as Fords go, in the future I'd buy a Ford long before I'd buy the more 'popular' vehicles. More mechanics are familiar with them. Fewer kids are modifying them so I don't have to worry about what I'm buying. Parts are readily available even on brand new vehicles.

But most importantly, I could care less about what someone else, who isn't making my payments, paying my insurance, maintaining what I drive, taking my car to the car wash, spending hours detailing it, or putting gas in it, thinks about what I purchase or what I decide to drive.

Opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one, and they can stick bananas...oh nevermind.

They both suck. They need to make quality cars or suffer the loss in public trust that they so equitably deserve. If they both die off, what's the loss? Two companies that produce bad cars will go away.

My first car was a Ford, and it was a piece of junk. Every Ford I've come in contact with was a piece of junk, aside from the occasional brand-new rental car. Even my favorite of them, the Mustang, didn't drive as well as a European car.

Ergonomics, efficiency in fuel usage and interior space design, and reliability, are all concepts that were alien to Ford and had to introduced.

I have driven both the Ford Product and The GM. Both companies have improved their cars, and they are much better now, more relliable, and most cars need better mileage, that includes the non domestic makes. I have been driving a product that is made by our Auto Companies, rather then imports. According to your personal taste, select what is suitable to you

me personally i like old chevy i'm talking like 60's and 70's anything newer are just terrible. not much for ford except for the power joke they are good engines. I'm a die heard nissan guy all the way. their VQ35DE (3.5 liter V6) makes more power than a lot of V8's and totally destroys ANY american V6. GM's 3.9 liter V6 doesn't have the power the VQ35 has. pretty pathetic, more displacement less power. even the GM 3.8L supercharged makes 240hp the VQ can make 300 without forced induction....

buy a bicycle it's more reliable than any car lol but seriously it's not the make of the car what counts it's really how you treated it if you do the basic maintenance on a car and don't beat the living crap out of it. It will last allot longer Volvo has the world's record on the most miles on a car! my friends mercury montego has over 375,000 miles on it with original trans and motor the only things replaced on it was a water pump and a alternator!
So to me it doesn't matter the make it's how you treat the car

P.S drag-racing I'm a Mopar guy

Ford is WAY better than GM, what the hell are you talking about. Nobody can touch Ford when it comes to the trucks. Just wait 'till the 6.4L diesel trucks come out for '07 as early '08 models, then we'll see if you still think GM is the better choice!!!

I think they both equally suck and I have had many of both. My best luck has been toyota and honda in that order, I read that toyota is having some quality problems now. A car is a huge investment and you need the best you can afford to buy. I won't spent 20-30 grand on an american car just because it is american put out a good product and I will buy american.

ford relliable??? waht??? in waht world... are we talking about the same Ford that makes Taurus? Contour? Tempo? come one, those are like disposable cars... GM has problems but not that big... I aint saying that ford makes everything bad, but they sure have their ups and downs too noticeable... I like amercan muscles but when reliabilty and money saver comes in mind, I would choose some import, not because that tokyo thing, but because they are worth the buck. (currently driving a cherokee)
