Being a Model is all about whether or not your working and getting modeling jobs. I've dated two models. One that did work and one that was "attempting" to get work. The only difference between the two (they're both gorgeous) is that the one with work would work harder.

Just do it. Get your face out there.

Move to L.A., New York or Vegas. Do as many additions as possible. Oh ya... the ones that make it have to put up with a lot of sh** from other people. Especially the ones around them.

I know that there are several things to learn in the modeling business; however I think many of those schools are money traps without any real success in the modeling industry. First, I would do some research on the net, like you are doing - then, be honest with youself and see if you have or feel you have what it takes to be a model and what type. Next, try to beef up your portfolio and start networking. We've all seen the shows of 'Remember When' for various models and stars. So many now famous people were pictured with very common situations i.e. working at McDonalds or whatever. See if you can find someone to hire you for a modeling job. It may be the local hair cutter or department store. Check out the modeling and performer unions, SAG (Screen Actors Guilld) is one of them. Also check on Craigslist for work. BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT WHO WANTS TO SEE YOU AND NEVER LET ANY TELL YOU THAT TO BREAK INTO THE BUSINESS YOU NEED TO UNDRESS. It is better to start out with someone you know and go from there and NEVER agree to meet anyone who insists you come alone.
I wish you the best of luck.
One last thing, please do not starve yourself for modeling.

It's really just luck! If you're lucky enough to be discovered by a modeling agency.

Otherwise, try signing up for 'America's next top model' now that requires a LOT of luck just to get in... Afterwards it's all looks, personality and talent.

Be gorgeous, have a unique look, and be seen by the right person at the right time. Simple as that. Good luck.
