Windows 98? Why? The least evil you could do is install Windows XP or Vista, but 98; that's almost obsolete.

I would suggest anything from Pentium II 600 MHz to Pentium III 1 GHz. I used an Intel Celeron 600 MHz and that ran fine too. Memory usage depends. 64 MB is adequate, while 128 MB is enough.

there are no more updates for windows 98 and it is obsolete and has been that way for 4 yrs now. try windows xp it is very good.
