1-Discount wine from Trader Joe's, if you live near one.
2-Candy.
3-If you are ambitous, try this: go to a discount store like the dollar store or Tuesday morning and buy some red or green plates; clear glass is also nice. Buy a big tub of cookie dough and make some chocolate chip cookies. Cover with colored or holiday Saran Wrap (grocery store has it) and wrap with a bow (can get nice ribbon at dollar store). Sounds like a lot, but it's actually easy, inexpensive, thoughtful and makes a nice gift.
Keep in mind that anything wrapped with a pretty, wide ribbon looks better and shows you cared enough to go the extra mile, even on a limited budget.

It depends upon how many people you have. One idea is you purchases gifts from one of the charities. It may cost a little more, but you can take it most of the cost off your taxes and you and they know you did something nice at the holiday's. The other item, is if you are cash poor this xmas, is to make small gift bags. You can buy things in multi packs and create unique gifts like six white cermaic coffee mugs, a box of hot chocolate packages, some candycanes, a box of small packages of marshmallows (yes they have em for kids lunches) a spool of ribbon and you have a xmas hot chocolate mug w/peppermint for your coworkers. Often, it is not what you get, but that you thought of them.

It depends on how many people we are talking about here. One year I bought coffee mugs from the Dollar Store and filled them with candy and a pack of hot chocolate mix. This is cute and inexpensive. But if you only have a few people to buy for, then maybe a $10.00 gift card to an ice-cream shop, a coffee shop or a video store.

You could buy them lunch, bake them cookies, or something food related.
One thing I do is buy a Christmas stocking from the dollar store for each person, then write their name on it in fabric glitter paint, and fill it with candy. Also, (depending on how much you want to spend) you could get a $10 gift card to put in there with the candy.

a few suggestions....if they work with the public or have their own desks you may want to have a nice candy dish with candy filled in it. Another suggestion is if they tend to do a lot of mailings like we do....a refillable sponge pen that seals envelopes or glue sticks. Maybe get a few necessities together like nice rollerball pens and glue sticks and highlighter and put into a nice holder or decorate your own for their desk.
