I am 17 weeks now and have had cramping the entire time. My doctor told me that it is just the muscles and ligaments stretching to accomodate the baby and the changes in my body. As long as the cramping isn't worse that what you would normally have during your period and as long as there isn't any bleeding then you are fine.
If you are truly concerned, then call you doctor. He/She can help you put your fears to rest.

I am over due in my own pregnancy and I had ALOT of cramping when I was in my first trimester, I even had some spotting. I was also very concerned, but when I saw my OB she reassured me that it is very common in your first trimester because your body is just adjusting to being pregnant and may be a bit confused. I now still have some cramping, don't worry it is normal. I would just tell your doctor what is going on to ease your mind.

I had cramps off and on throughout my pregnancy. I called my doctor because I wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong, and they told me that it's normal as long as there is no bleeding. It's just things stretching out and expanding and moving around.

No it does not mean you belly will grow faster.
Most people experience period type cramping during the first trimester. No need to worry unless you have bleeding.

I also had cramps during both of my pregnancys went to the doctors and they said it was my uterus expanding. They told me to don't worry about cramps unless I was bleeding. But call you doctor to make sure. Espically if you are high risk or young.

those cramps you are having are totally normal I had the same ones before knowing I was pregnant. just go with the flow they will ease up but you will still have them even later in the pregnancy.

was there any blood? I have had cramps but it was just things stretching out. Call your doctor and let him know. I had cramps when I was supposed to get my period and sometimes I still get them but there was never any blood or spotting.
