you can't really. they'll do whatever they want to in order to feel accepted by their peers. you could, however, comment on their breath, or the nasty smell in their hair and on their clothes. tell them to take it outside while its raining or snowing. they'll get the idea that their smoke is unwelcome, and in their hearts, the family is the last place they want to feel unwelcome.

The younger they are the easier they scare. I know it's a tactic used heavily, but showing them smoker's lungs, bringing them into a nursing home and the people on oxygen etc... Show them what they have to look forward to. I am 21 and have smoked for 10 years already-I wish somebody would have been there to show me what I have to be scared about. Oh, also pulling off stories of lung cancer in young adults is also a good way to get them to kick the habit

Unfortunately its a lost cause. Personally I feel that whoever blows smoke in another persons face or makes someone endure the stink that cigarettes cause should be made to eat the cigarette they are smoking and the remainder of the pack.

As you can tell not a fan of smoking in the slightest. Ugly, dirty, disgusting habit that makes your fingers turn yellow, your breath and clothes smell and it needs to be seen as anti social behaviour!

Maybe if you got them information about exactly what is added to the tobacco .... it is appalling. Maybe they would agree. One must consult the local department of health.

Live healthy, die anyway.
Let them make their own choice. Don't utilize propaganda, allow for both sides to the argument.
