My favourite trousers zip has broken!!! You know the situation where the zip becomes detached from the other side so when you pull the zip up it doesnt close the zip and leaves it open. What can I do?

Take it to a tailor. Dont trust your favorite trousers to anyone less than a professional. Your local dry cleaner store should have tailor services or the mall. I doubt fixing your zippers would cost more than a few bucks.

I do MOST of the sewing in our house. It is possible, if the cleats are not lost, to open the zipper a little with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver then put it on and reclose it. If that is not possible, I would take it to a seamstress to replace the zipper. They can be monstrous to replace and a good seamstress can do it quickly and rather cheaply! I hope that this helps. Have a great holiday season.

If you happen to live in Newcastle pay a visit to Mr Rahman on Westgate Road. He can put a zip in anything, from bikini to greatcoat.

you have one of two choices
1. go to a store that sells zippers and try to do it your self
2 or there are places that specialize in it such as a dry cleaners some of them have people that do that and it is usually under 5$ thats where i went to have zippers fixed call around to your local dry cleaners and ask
