I sincerely doubt that a GED will solve ALL of the world's problems. It will however, if put to good work, will help you to gain greater freedom. With a better paying job, you will have more money and a greater ability to make better choices. Remember, he who has the most money, has the greatest power and most freedom. He who has the most money also has the most fun!

Your GED certainly can't do any worse than Bush's bachelor's degree from Yale and master's from Harvard Business School. (That just goes to show that money may be able to buy you a place in an Ivy League school, but it still can't buy you brains.)
