When I was pregnant I was advised not to, but I know a hairdresser who continued to work in a salon throughout the pregnancy. If you want a medical opinion ask a doctor, but I would do it so long as it wasn't too full of the harsh chemicals and I could breath fresh air while it was dying.

It's probably not harmful to the baby at this point in your pregnancy. However you should be aware that do to hormonal changes, there is no guarantee the coloring will have the desired results. The same is true for perms.
I don't know the effect you are trying to achieve but perhaps just some highlights would give you a nice moral boost and a bit of spark.
Congratulations!

There are plenty of hairdressers that work in salons/spas with hair dyes the whole entire time they are pregnant. I waited until I was 15 weeks to get mine done. A friend of mine is a color specialist and she suggests waiting until after 12 weeks. She also worked in the salon with color the whole time she was pregnant and has a beautiful, healthy baby girl.

some drs said it's ok, other say better to wait (but they will not tell you is harmful for the baby). This used to be true years ago when dyes had a LOT of chemicals in them....now they do but not as much. I've been dying my hair as regular as I always have -and since I found out I was pg- and my baby is perfectly fine...no problems at all.

I didn't dye my hair at all while I was pregnant because I felt like all the fumes would not be good for my unborn child, but I know other people that dye their hair constantly while they were pregnant. If I were you I would either ask my doctor or just go with your instinct. If you feel it would hurt your child then just don't do it.

I wouldnt do it at all, but I was watching a show the other day about mothers to be that they were pampering and they said that after week 12 its ok get dye your hair. My friend dyed her hair at 4months along, and her baby was born fine..Im sure its ok, but I would still wait anyways.

I would leave it be I would also bet that it looks just fine the way it is. Concentrate on what is inside of you moree than the outside, for your sake and that of your child and work on the surface of outside only if you firmly be;ieve that you have to for your owe self esteem women become so very beautirul when they are pregnant so that is not somethng that you should worry about.

I asked my Dr. and she said just to wait until my second trimester, so I did. My hairdresser put a fan in her area so the smell of the dye would dissipate faster and not linger around for me to inhale.

I've been dying my hair since I found out I was pregnant. I got permission from my doctor. I'd ask your doctor and see what he thinks. Also, when I do get my hair colored, I put a towel over my nose and mouth so I don't breathe in the fumes. :)

I think you have to wait til you 16 weeks pregnant to do it I'm not sure but I believe that is how far along I was when I did it.
