In on of my pregnancy books from the doctors office it says that some women can feel the baby in the 1st trimester. Most other sources and friends have said it does not happen til 20 weeks. Has anyone had experiences in the 1st trimester? It seems like it would be impossible.

I believe you can if its your second/third baby. With my first pregnancy I didn;t feel movements for months, but this time around I am more in tune with my body and whats going on in there. I have felt some things.. wouldnt exactly call them movements, but I could def feel something going on in there.

Your baby isn't strong enough or big enough to kick or flip and you be able to feel him or her in the first trimester. Most first time moms don't feel baby move until twenty weeks or after. But second, third, and so, moms tend to fell baby earlier. This is just because they know what they are waiting for and their muscle are a little more stretched out so there is a lot less to kick or flip. The earliest I've even heard of anyone felling baby is around week 16.

If it's your first pregnancy you can feel the baby moving earlier than women that have had babies before. With my son I felt him during the end of my 1st trimester.

I started feeling my second baby around 11 weeks. (my first at 13 weeks) It just depends on how in-tune with your body you are. You feel the second baby sooner because you know what you are feeling.
