Hairstyle isn't a "protected" right. Have him check the rule book. Chances are, even if they're unhappy about it, depending on store dress code, a bandana or hat over it will be ok... But its wicked short so worst case if he *needed* this particular job, couldn't he just shave it off?

Employor can sack you for anything these days. I once got sacked for not being bubbly enough.

They may just suspend him until his hair grows back. But on the other hand. with it being xmas I doubt it super markets need all the staff they can get !!!!!

if his employers stated in the contract he signed that there were specific requirements about his appearance that he had to meet then yes they could fire him. they would probably give him an opportunity to change his hair before firing him though.

Depends on their dress code - I wouldn't have thought so as long as he doesn't wear it spiked at work with a bad attitude!

If he is in contact with the public yes they probably will...but fear not there are legions of human rights lawyers who will get him thousands of £££,s for his distress and hurt feelings

It all depends what their policy is, if he has signed a contract and it states about appearance in there, then yes they can.
